Hosted by: Anacostia Riverkeeper
Join Anacostia River Explorers on a FREE BOAT RIDE to learn about the Anacostia River’s history, wildlife, the environmental threats it faces, and the solutions helping it realize its full potential.
These free, guided boat tours are funded by the District’s disposable bag fee. Public tours are offered each month and capped at 20 people per trip. Want to reserve your own trip? Email firstname.lastname@example.org to book yours today!
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No! All are welcome on our tours. Minors just need parental permission via our safety waiver.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Tours leave from the docks at Diamond Teague Park. Tours will meet out front on the ECC red brick pumphouse by the benches in front of the Anacostia mural. Parking can be limited around DC’s Navy Yard neighborhood so public transportation is always encouraged. The Navy Yard/Ballpark metro is a 5 minute walk away.
What can I bring into the event?
Tours run from March until October so it’s recommended that participants dress for the weather. Sunscreen, hats, water are recommended for summer tours especially. Tours will run rain or shine but our captains reserve the right to cancel any tours up until the start time due to thunder, lightning, or other adverse weather. Participants will be informed of any cancelations as soon as possible.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
All questions can be directed to email@example.com
